Teenage father bites his newborn baby in the face to stop her from crying

An 18-year-old father Felipe Deaquino of Stamford was arrested by the police for getting out of control and biting his new born baby to stop her from crying. Police in Connecticut who arrested the teenage father said he admitted to biting his 6-week-old daughter in order to get her to stop crying. He was subsequently charged with assault and risk of injury to a child among other charges. Police said they dispatched officers to the home around 8:00 pm after they received information that a child was being abused. When officers got to the scene, they found a woman saying that she lived with Deaquino and their young daughter. She added that she had an altercation with Deaquino who spat on her face because she accused him of abusing his daughter.

She then showed the officer a bruise on the baby’s face. The woman and her baby were taken to nearby hospital by the officers. Doctors discovered that besides the large bruise on the left side of the baby’s face she also had a burn mark on the palm of her hand, which they said could have been caused by a cigarette. As the child was being examined at the hospital, Deaquino arrived and was placed under arrest. When interviewed by detectives, he allegedly admitted to biting his newborn baby to stop her from crying. Deaquino was charged with two counts of third-degree assault, risk of injury to a child and disorderly conduct. He is being held on $35,000 bond.
